Matthew has a diverse background in the world of percussion, ranging from Jazz to Drum Corps to Avant Garde music to Popular music to Orchestral percussion, and more. He has performed in Bands and Orchestras throughout the New England and Tennessee areas. Matthew has taught marching bands and performing ensembles in Connecticut and Tennessee.

He received his Masters Degree in Percussion Performance at Middle Tennessee State University studying under Lalo Davila, Julie Davila and Derrek Phillips, amongst other well-known musicians and directors. Prior to studying at Middle Tennessee State University, Matthew received his Undergraduate Degree at Western Connecticut State University studying under David Smith and Patrick Smith. Matthew is currently the Assistant band director at Coffee County High School. He lives in Murfreesboro, TN with his wife, Annie, and two dogs, Onyx & Ruby.
