Dan Moore explores the many expressive capabilities of percussion, making music with inspiring performers from an array of musical backgrounds. He performs throughout the U.S. and internationally in venues such as marimba and percussion festivals in Mexico, Patagonia, The People's Republic of China, Japan, Malta, Sweden, Chile, and Uruguay.

His collaborations and recordings range from experimental art music (Cabinet of Curiosities: The Graphic Percussion Scores of Robert Moran) to the marimba/steel pan grooves of the Britain Moore Duo.

Moore's 2013 CD with the band Misfit Toys, Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is, is a collection of reimagined hits from the 1970s. In Icon Magazine, Mark Keresman writes that "Misfit Toys . . . mixes affection with cheerful derision; wry invention applied to corniness, and a genuine desire to reinvent the familiar in zany but substantial ways. Those missing the inspired (both musically and comedically) vistas of Zappa should sip at this trough posthaste."

Dr. Moore is professor of music and head of The University of Iowa's internationally recognized Iowa Percussion, where he has created an award winning student-centric program that encompasses contemporary chamber music, concert percussion, electronic music, improvisation, steel band, traditional Chinese drumming, and other ethnic music.

Dan Moore is a Yamaha international performing artist, a signature mallet artist for Innovative Percussion, and performing artist for Sabian Cymbals and Grover Pro Percussion. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Percussive Arts Society International Organization for Percussionists. His music is published by Row-Loff Productions, Innovative Percussion, and Cricket City Music and Media.
