Philip Gregory

Philip Gregory serves as director of the Siegel Middle School Band. His former appointments in his twenty-four year teaching career include Director of Bands at Hillwood High School in Nashville, Tennessee, and Grundy County High School where he initiated the program. He received a Master of Arts degree with a specialization in conducting from Middle Tennessee State University. During this, his second tenure at MTSU, he served as a graduate assistant in band and was awarded Outstanding Graduate Student in Music. He has recently completed and Educational Specialist Degree from MTSU as well.

Mr. Gregory’s concert and jazz bands at Siegel Middle School have consistently received superior ratings at local and state festivals. The jazz band at Siegel has performed at the state music education conference twice and has recorded four CD’s at MTSU’s recording industry studios.

Mr. Gregory’s professional memberships include TMEA and MTSBOA, where he has served on the executive committee, NBA, PAS, Phi Beta Mu, ASBDA and MENC. Mr. Gregory is also a Past – President of the Middle Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association. He resides with his wife Brenda, choir director at Siegel High School, in Murfreesboro.
